Wakefield Street - Adelaide SA
The South Australian Government’s Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) is responsible for the planning, design, delivery, and maintenance of state infrastructure that supports essential services for the South Australian community. It also manages and develops the state’s transport networks and oversees the service delivery systems that support these networks.
Project Design Brief
The DIT has introduced a new standard specification to enhance security for cable enclosures, protecting infrastructure assets from theft and vandalism. The specification includes two levels of security: one allowing the use of a padlock and another featuring a specialised bolt that prevents the steel lid from being lifted. Additionally, the DIT corporate logo must be clearly displayed on the lid to ensure easy identification of DIT assets.
ACO's Solution
- Type 2 Plastic Pit with Secure Locking Steel Lid and SA DIT Logo
Benefits
- The secure locking system is a barless system which allows lids to be secured to the cable pit by locking them to the pit structure via a fastened bracket.
- The secure locking steel lid has also been manufactured with a small recess to accommodate the DIT corporate logo and ensure it does not become a trip hazard.
- The secure and locking steel lid options can easily be retrofitted to the cable enclosure when replacing a standard concrete lid.
