Southport Broadwater Parklands, Gold Coast, QLD

Broadwater Parklands is a world-class recreational area extending three kilometres. The spacious parkland has picnic areas, BBQ facilities, café, children’s play equipment and water playground. The popular area hosts movie nights, concert performances, weekend markets, Carols by Candlelight, sporting events, community and cultural activities.

Project Design Brief

During stage three of the project, construction of an Education Shelter and a Northern Pavilion took place. The new buildings required lighting, communication and security infrastructure for evening events and activities. Designers needed secure electrical and communication enclosures that would prevent access from unauthorised personnel.

Benefits

  • The large range of service pit sizes available from ACO ensured all pits could be sized accurately according to their function
  • PowerLok® lids could be easily fitted with standard size padlocks, used by the Gold Coast City Council who maintain the parklands
  • The various services enclosed in the pit could be easily identified by ID plates positioned on the access hatch
