Kiwirail’s recent electrification and refurbishment of Papakura Station, includes the Onehunga and Manukau branch lines.
Project Design Brief
Designers wanted to minimise the use of non-metallic building elements, where possible, specifically around the subterranean cables providing power to the station’s lighting and lift services.
ACO's Solution
To ensure secure protection and access to these cables, ACO’s Polycrete
Pits were selected. Made from durable polymer concrete, these enclosures provide excellent insulation properties. To preserve the visual continuity of the platform’s bitumen topping, ACO’s Urbanfil steel infill covers were also specified.
