Neville Bonner Bridge - Brisbane QLD
Named in honour of the late Indigenous Senator Neville Bonner AO, the Neville Bonner Bridge spans the Brisbane River, strengthening the connection between the vibrant South Bank arts and cultural precinct and the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development. As a striking architectural feature of the Queen’s Wharf project, the bridge adds to Brisbane’s growing collection of iconic river crossings, serving as both a functional link and a symbol of cultural recognition.
Project Design Brief
Designers were challenged with incorporating essential services such as power, lighting, communications, and CCTV into a very shallow bridge deck. Due to the limited depth, service conduits had to be installed virtually on top of the bridge deck. To enable future maintenance and access after the final tiling, shallow access points were strategically integrated along the length of the bridge.
