Deakin University is transforming its Melbourne Burwood Campus through the construction of the new Deakin Law School Building. The facility expands teaching capacity with flexible, technology-enabled spaces that foster interactive learning. It is also Deakin’s first next-generation sustainable building, featuring advanced design elements that enhance environmental performance and energy efficiency.
Project Design Brief
The building required several underground services, including lighting, communications, power, and CCTV. Designers aimed to ensure that the new service pits integrated seamlessly with various hardstand pavement types. They also specified that all access covers be adaptable to accommodate multiple pavement finishes while maintaining functionality and durability.
