Butler Train Station - Perth, WA

Butler Station is a newly constructed futuristic railway station located in a northern suburb of Perth.

Project Design Brief

The WA Government’s commitment to extend the Joondalup line to Butler will provide faster travel times for the commuters travelling between the rapidly growing suburb and the Perth CBD. The train station incorporates a bus interchange and parking for 930 cars.

To support the new infrastructure, designers needed to integrate a number of key communication and data services, such as cables for signals and CCTV cameras.

ACO's Solution

Cable pits were installed to provide maintenance staff with easy access to the extensive cable network.

ACO’s Powerlok® lid was specified as the lockbox was large enough to meet the Western Australian Public Transport Authority’s padlock specification requirements.

Benefits

  • The lids are secured to the cable pit with a single fastened bracket.
  • The Powerlok® lid is a patented barless system, ensuring the metal components are kept well away from the cables.
