Grand Central Shopping Centre - Toowoomba, QLD
Grand Central Shopping Centre is a major retail destination in Toowoomba, owned by the Queensland Investment Corporation. The first stage of the development opened in 1996, and today the centre is the largest shopping complex in the Darling Downs region, comprising major retailers, entertainment facilities and more than 180 specialty stores. It serves as a key commercial hub for the region.
Project Design Brief
The pavement design incorporated a range of surface finishes across both internal and external areas of the shopping centre, including tiles, pavers and decorative concrete. Access was required to numerous underground services, including lighting, communications, power and CCTV infrastructure. Designers specified a secure and versatile access cover solution capable of protecting critical services while accommodating multiple surface finishes and maintaining the visual continuity of the surrounding pavement.
