Melbourne Metro ANZAC Station - Melbourne, VIC
The Melbourne Metro project involves the construction of two 9 km rail tunnels through central Melbourne, along with five new underground stations. The project also includes the development of two train/tram interchanges at Parkville and Domain. The Domain interchange, located on St Kilda Road, will be named ANZAC Station in recognition of its proximity to the Shrine of Remembrance Reserve.
Project Design Brief
The pavement design specifies the use of Melbourne’s traditional bluestone pavers on the station platforms. The new station will also require a range of underground services, including lighting, communications, power, and CCTV. Designers have specified a degree of security for all access covers, while ensuring the cover frames to remain visually discreet within the pavement surface.
